SEIZE THE MOMENT SUBMISSIONS

Hey, lovely person!

You're here to submit your entry in the Seize the Moment anthology, right?

Well, you're in the right place! As with many things, there are some rules and such to go over, so, please read the information below thoroughly.

*Note: We did prompts slightly differently this time round. You can find the link to the prompts below. You can use ANY of the pins on the Anthology Prompts section but you MUST use at least one.

Submissions close on August 13th so be sure to submit your story before that date.

The release day will be September 23rd.

Please submit your story in a Word doc, Google doc, or PDF file. No other files will be accepted.

Find the prompts here: https://www.pinterest.com/authorabigailkayharris/seize-the-moment-anthology/

If you want to review the rules and all the fun (cough BORING cough) stuff, you will find the rules toward the end of the form!

Only the King James Version Bible may be used as it is in the public domain.

Submissions must be through this form, and this form alone. There is no other way to send your submission, and sending your story by email will result in an instant denial.

Compensation for authors will begin at once divided equally between the authors and a percentage to the publisher.

The stories will be proofread by M.L. Milligan and the publishing team for CDXC Aurora Lux Libri Publishing and final edits will be sent to the author and discussed with the author either in a single doc or the master doc for the anthology, left to the discretion of the full publishing team.

We will provide editing if that's what the author wants; however, it is preferred that the authors' works be as polished and edited as possible, though we will do a final read of each story and our suggestions will be sent before the final manuscript is finished.

All rights are retained by the authors.

The Rules
  • Submissions close on August 13th

  • 13 submissions chosen by August 23rd

  • Submissions will be read by August 30th.

  • Each story must be between 3,000 to 5,000 words (unless it is 100% necessary to the story!)

  • Each story must have a focus on mercy in some form.

  • The story must be formatted as follows: text size 12, Times New Roman, Line spacing 1.15, single indent by tab or no indent at all.

  • Stories will be proofread and returned to the author with the comments or questions that come up.

  • Bible verses must be King James Version. No other version is accepted due to the publishing policy and copyright and public domain.

  • You can submit more than one story... Only one story per author will be chosen for the anthology.

  • Any era or genre - excluding magical fantasy, horror, or anything that doesn't honor God, otherwise have at it!–is accepted.

  • We're looking for good, wholesome Christian stories that are for all ages or at the most 13/16 up–so no icky relationships, or extreme violence. Your story must be God-honoring and portray a plot line that reflects God's love and honors Him! Please, no inappropriate behavior and keep it at a rating of around PG-13 or something you don't mind a parent, grandparent, or kid siblings reading...

  • You must use at least one prompt in your story.

  • Anything against these rules and regulations will not be accepted nor considered due to a strong policy of keeping in line with our hopes for the anthology, beliefs, and what we hope to share with the world at large.

  • Please, no inappropriate behavior and keep it at a rating of around PG-13 or something you don't mind a parent, grandparent, or kid siblings reading... Yes, this bares saying again.

  •  Did you understand and abide by the rules and regulations? This document must be digitally signed for your story to be considered submitted. (Anything against these rules and regulations will not be accepted nor considered due to a strong policy of keeping in line with our hopes for the anthology, beliefs, and what we hope to share with the world at large.)

  • You will not harass, contact, deframe, or bully anyone in the anthology, working with Beyond the Bookery, or in anyway, shape, or form cause harm be it by words, actions, or in any way if you are not chosen as an author.
